Is bailing out GM really a good idea?!

Look at the past... they have been bailed out before havn't they? I think that spending 15 billion dollars to help out a failing automaker is a bad Idea... Maybe instead we should use 15 billion dollars to come up with new ways to run our vehicles and stop foreign dependance on OPEC. or use 15 billion dollars to clean up inner cities and stop homelessness, and poverty in our own country, since we do a good job helping to stop the spead of poverty in other parts of the world

i agree and fell that if we did invest that 15 billion dollars into helping american cars compete with foreign companies we would also be creating a lot more jobs and helping to economy

I don't think we should help anyone who flies into a meeting about getting "bailed out" in a corporate jet. If they want money maybe they should make more efficient cars like Honda and Toyota that run forever instead of a $40,000 car that will last you 100,000 miles before it starts falling into the ground. It is not that they are not capable of doing it, they are just making the standard life of a car a lot shorter than foreign companies. Especially when the economy is bad do they need to be making cars that are not effecient and reliable? Probably not they were just making short term profits and ended up making bad names for themselves. I mean when you talk to someone about wanting a new car I doubt any of you say you want that new Chrysler I mean come on.
